Grassroots Grants: Birmingham – Dudley – Walsall

Grassroots Grants is a key element of the Government’s strategy for building stronger and more active communities. Grassroots Grants aims to invest in a thriving community sector by:

"Increasing the small grant funding available to community groups and making it more sustainable"

There are two parts to this initiative:

to give out small grants (see criteria below) and
the endowment match challenge to raise funds to give out in perpetuity

Grassroots Grants criteria
We are keen to receive applications from voluntary/community organisations that are able to demonstrate that their project will build their capacity and bring benefit to the local community and in doing so meet at least one of the objectives listed below:

Encourage community responsibility
Develop community capacity
Are unable to access other forms of funding
Does not duplicate other work being done within the area
Have an annual income of less than £30,000

Please note: The Grassroots Funding Programme comes to an end on 31st March 2011. Therefore any group we fund needs to have the money spent or allocated prior to this date. Your project can continue, however we would send you an End of Grant Form to complete mid March 2011 and then by the end of March 2011 we would expect it completed and returned with all invoices and receipts.
